Faculty Club
The Faculty Club 'Helios' is located in a 15th century convent building at the Domplein in Utrecht. After having served as a monastery, prison, police station and lecture halls for the University of Utrecht, it now offers an "academic living room" for the reception of academic employees and their guests. The ground floor holds the restaurant and the smoking and poolroom while the first floor constitutes of meeting and conference rooms.
The medieval halls have been restored to their former glory. Running along the entire length of one side of the building, a long shelf unit was designed to cover the height of two floors, hosting the library while including the staircase to the mezzanine floor, the entrance doors and niches for internet.
The bar, armchairs, tables, carpets and light fittings have equally been designed by our office.
