Prinsengracht
A radical transformation of a large, classic canal house in the Prinsengracht in Amsterdam. Both party walls are hung with cabinets, which contain everything the occupants might need. Directly above and below these cabinets, small areas of the floor have given way to thick glass panes. The difference between ‘building' and ‘furnishings' has been made indistinct in this project. Only the bathrooms - lined in lead - are contained in separate rooms. The former inner courtyard has been made into a stairwell.
