Houseboat
A large houseboat lies picturesquely half-hidden on the banks of the Loosdrechtse Plassen, a large body of water just north of Utrecht. Since it sits half on the bank and half in the water, the houseboat has a view of the lake from three sides. Inside, one finds a large variety of different spaces, each created to have its own distinct character, thanks to the intelligent use of multiple levels. Since the detailing avoids conscious maritime references, one feels that this houseboat would sooner serve as a small house than as a boat.
